Heide Lynne Canlas asked:
At one point in our life, we will have to face the question about which computing system should we buy, a Mac or a PC? The fact that you got interested in this article and you started reading only shows that you are among the many confused consumers who haven’t made up their minds yet whether they should purchase a Mac computer or a PC.
To answer this ultimate question that could bug our minds for days, weeks, or even years, we have to justify clearly why you should buy a Mac, why you should buy a PC, and why you have to choose between the two. Ready? Here goes:
Why You Should Buy a Mac Computer
True, Mac products are generally expensive in price – not just the computer systems, but technically most of its products including iPods and Mac software. However, these high costs do have justification. Mac computers, as you would notice in Apple stores, are quite pricey compared to other computer systems because they come with a platform that is technologically advanced, virus-free, and stable.
Technologically advanced: The newer Mac systems are designed with a multi-touch technology that allows users to move and work on the items on the screen by just using their fingers and touching the screen. Mac systems make computer peripherals such as the mouse or web camera a thing from the past.
Virus-free platform: It is not yet 100% fully proven that Macs do not get infected with viruses. However, unlike PC units, Macs generally do not suffer from virus attacks, crashing, and constant reformatting. With Macs, you also do not have to worry whether an Internet site you are visiting is safe or not, or whether the drive you are plugging on to your system is clean or not. So, they are not just virus-free, but worry-free as well.
Stability: Do you know that you can work with your Mac OS for weeks without rebooting and it’s performance will never run down? So if you are the type of person who only goes away from the computer during “emergencies” , you will never hear your Mac computer complain.
BONUS! BONUS! These are not only the advantages of Mac systems. Fashion and innovation are also some of the things that Apple is proud of. If you want to be trendy, stylish, and popular among your cliques, then Apple computers and laptops could actually give you that stylish and elegant aura.
Why You Should Buy a PC
Are you a PC user ever since? Then, you should know that familiarity in using a PC, its low cost, and the wide options you have in choosing for one are the top reasons why you should choose a PC rather than a Mac.
Familiarity: This should be the top reason why you are buying a PC rather than Mac, especially if you have been used to working with Windows ever since. Switching to a Mac would require extra time and effort to familiarize yourself with a new platform.
Less cost: Without a doubt, PC units are a lot less expensive than Mac systems. For the same price as that of one particular Mac system with the standard specs, you can already get a PC with much more and higher features.
Flexibility and wider options: Aside from this, you have wider options with PC than with Mac as only Apple creates the latter. With PC, your choices include Dell, HP, Asus, Toshiba, Sony, and a much more brand names, helping you easily get what you want to provide you with what you need. You have greater flexibility in choosing which PC unit suits best for you
Ultimate Decision: Mac or PC?
Buy a Mac from Apple stores if:
-You have enough budget for it;
-You have no problem with learning a new platform and getting familiar with it;
-You don’t want to deal with frequent virus scanning and reformatting; and
-You want to be stylish and fashionable when it comes to your computer system.
On the other hand, buy a PC if:
-You do not want to spend so much for a computer;
-You want to choose from wide options of computer brand names; and
-You would rather work with Windows OS as you have become so much familiar with it;
Now, it’s up to you to decide. While guides like this could only give you insights, it is still users like you who know which is the perfect computer system to use. Remember that whether you are a Mac or a PC, these advanced computers should teach you to become a better and more innovative person, instead of making you a technological slave.

Apple Logic Board Repair Reviewed asked:
The cost savings of having your apple logic board repaired instead of swapped out completely add up to over $800 dollars on some apple computer models. Quotes in excess of $1000 dollars have been issued for the replacement logic board and labor! Finding the right facility to repair an apple logic board instead of replacement can make a big difference.
That is the tricky part. Finding an apple repair center that can repair the board itself can take months to find then MONTHS to get the repair finished. Proper logic board repaira do take a longer time to complete properly due to Q/A testing of the actual apple computer repair. A week or 7 business days is a reasonable expectation for a normal turn around time on a mail in apple laptop repair.
I don’t think even apple them self could beat 7 days on a logic board swap anyway. So that is reasonable for a smaller company to meet or even sometimes beat. I believe it is worth a week of down time to save $800 dollars and I bet you do also!
The apple logic board repair company should have at least a 90 day warranty. Sadly, a lot of companies that install refurbished boards can’t even offer a warranty on the board itself.That is another reason to have your current logic board repaired properly instead of replaced. You know the history behind your computer. You could end up with some 17 year old kids logic board who spilled coke on it and played video games 24-7! We all understand how much stress and heat video games cause to logic boards!
The price for a correct apple logic board repair should vary based on model and speed of the apple laptop or desk top to be repaired. At most it should not exceed $250 dollars and include return insured shipping and a 90 day warranty. At that price it is much less expensive than buying a whole new laptop or apple desktop. You have the security of knowing the past history of your complete computer.
Make sure the apple repair center has the ability to replace actual components on the board itself. The machinery to do this cost hundreds of thousands because it must be done with inhuman precision. Some apple logic board components require proper alignment of over 160 TINY pins. Impossible for a human to remove or install these types of components without error or mechanical assistance!
The reward of saving $600 or $800 dollars on a repair is sweet. Getting your computer fixed for $250 after you spilled coke in it is even better! Yes, any honest board level repair facility should be able to fix most liquid spills. There are very few liquid spills that cannot be fixed by a proper application of logic board repair techniques!
Hopefully you are now inspired to save that rotten apple computer, you know the one you love so much until it had come down with a bad logic board? With the cost of living going up consider repairing an older computer you may have lying around and give it to one of your children to save money instead of buying new. Knowing the computers history is a huge plus.
When running a business from your computer, you really need a back up. That is another great reason to get that broken mac repaired instead of tossing it and buying a new one. Most likely if you have it repaired you can Easily resell it for a lot more working than you paid to repair the logic board. All of there things should be considered when you are saving so much money on the apple computer repair itself!

Corwin Brown asked:
Stylishly and intelligently designed for your on-the-go digital lifestyle, Apple’s MacBook is the perfect confluence of affordability, innovation, and powerful computing. This latest iteration of the MacBook line is pre-loaded with Apple’s Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system, which adds over 300 new features including easy backup of your most important data via Time Machine, a redesigned desktop that helps eliminate clutter, and the newest version of the fast-loading Safari web browser.
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor:-The Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processor has a 2.2 GHz processor speed, super-fast 800 MHz front-side bus (FSB), and an enormous 4 MB of Smart Cache, an L2 cache that can be shared between the cores as needed. The Intel Core 2 Duo’s 128-bit SSE3 vector engine handles 128-bit computations in a single clock cycle, accelerating data manipulation by simultaneously applying a single instruction to multiple data. And its two execution cores are designed to share resources and conserve power, helping it to achieve higher levels of performance since it uses fewer watts. And with 4MB of shared L2 cache, the MacBook is a multi-tasking monster. With such substantial L2 cache, data and instructions can be kept close to the two processor cores, greatly increasing performance and allowing the entire system to work more efficiently. And, because the processor cores share the L2 cache, either can use the entire amount if the other happens to be idle.
Hard Drive and Memory: - The 120 GB Serial-ATA (SATA) hard drive (5400 RPM) quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data–akin to FireWire and USB 2.0. The 1 GB of PC5300 DDR2 RAM (two SO-DIMMs of 512 MB) has an industry-leading 667 MHz speed, and the RAM capacity can be increased to a whopping 4 GB.
Display and Graphics: - Whether you’re working on a Keynote presentation or watching a movie before you catch a flight, every document, video, and photo on your MacBook will look sharp on the glossy 13.3-inch widescreen display. With pixel-perfect 1280-by-800 resolution, it’s great for viewing and working with media. Video is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, which provides 144 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory.
Wireless Connectivity:-The built-in 802.11n wireless networking provides up to five times the performance and twice the range of 802.11g, but it’s also backward-compatible with 802.11a/b/g routers, enabling you to communicate with the a wide variety of Wi-Fi resources.
Keyboard and Mouse:-The track pad can tell if you’ve got one finger on the pedal, or two. With two, you can easily scroll around your documents or open contextual menus. When you need right-click functionality, simply open keyboard and Mouse in System Preferences and enable the secondary click preference.

Jimmy Lanceman asked:
For a lot of years, the preference between Macintosh Laptop Computers and their competition, the Personal Computer was decided upon by the available software. While most business oriented programs were only available on PC, with the graphic applications designed to work better on the Apple.
Apple’s decision to expand upon the use of the Intel processors, in their Computers, allowed for a rising number of these PC only applications to operate in the Apples. As part of the advance software and hardware, Windows will work on a Macintosh as well as the OSX operating system.
The easy and simple interface of the OS X system, which is also used in their phones, has come a long way and with innovations like the multi-touch track pad being offered on some Macintosh Laptop Computers are rapidly winning over hard core PC users. Apple’s ease of operation, reliability and many preloaded software programs are now taking the lead.
Strong Points.
The OS X Leopard operating system showcases your favorite desktop image and puts new file stack at your fingertips for a stunning, clutter free desktop. It’s intuitive, with very few errors, is not affected by most viruses and offers the user an eye opening experience that is second to none. You don’t use your Mac…You Experience It!
You’ll have no trouble running mind blowing graphics and you can also run Adobe suites along with Apples own programs. The newest member the Mac book Air is only 3/4 of an inch thick. Redesigned to give a streamlined look, light weight and easy too carry! And now offering new tools like: Boot camp, Time machine, spaces and Parental controls the rival the best.

Apple Logic Board Repair Reviewed asked:
If you have been recently handed an insane repair bill for a new apple logic board, there is other options out there worth exploring! In the past quotes in excess of $1000 dollars have been handed to apple computer lovers for a logic board replacement. This just happens to make it worth spending the extra few hundred to just buy a whole new macintosh computer!
Well, if you are unwilling to part with your current broken computer, there is no blame here.The economy is a repair economy not a replacement economy like we just recently had. If you search around there are a few select shops that can actually provide a clean, fast and cost effective repair of the broken apple computer you need repaired.
Apple logic boards were placed in laptops and desktops. When searching for a logic board repair or refurbished apple logic board repairs, make sure the company can provide repair of apple laptops and apple computers in general. Some shops will only repair desk tops because they feel it is to much effort to repair the apple laptop models like: ibook, macbook, macbook pro, powerbook, and so on.
There are many reasons why an apple logic board will fail. You can overheat your logic board and cause the equipment to break. Spills are common issues and your chosen shop should be able to handle anything up to redoing the power jack or running new traces on your apple logic boards.
The repair should cost no more than $250 and vary by the apple computer actually being repaired or worked on. The actual repair should be tested for a minimum of 48-72 hours before passing the quality control check. Most likely you will have to mail out your logic board level repair since the shops are VERY specialized and required hundreds of thousands in equipment to perform the apple computer repair properly.
There you have it a great reason not to throw away that expensive macintosh computer when the apple store tells you it is cheaper to replace that apple computer than to repair it!

Electronics doctor asked:
Friday is the big day—and already, a small group of publicity hounds are camped out in front of Apple’s Fifth Avenue flagship store in Manhattan. Also: developers line up submissions for the App Store, and AT&T posts videos on what to expect come launch day.
First up: Headlines began cropping up as early as Independence Day about lines forming in front of Apple Stores for the new, 3G-capabile iPhone.
Well, as it turns out, we’re only talking a single line here (in front of Apple’s “cube” store on Fifth Avenue and 57th Street), and it consists of about 10-odd environmental activists looking to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Members of the group say they want to raise awareness about … well, a number of things, including “sustainability, affordable housing, energy security, locally-grown food,” and “eating right,” according to Fortune. Gotcha. Oh, and they may buy a few iPhone 3Gs, as well.
Other than these guys, I haven’t seen any evidence (at least so far) of other early lines for the iPhone 3G—and indeed, some predict that the lines won’t be as bad as last year, when the iPhone frenzy was at its height.
Meanwhile, AT&T has posted a series of videos detailing how to get ready for the new iPhone, including tips for new and existing AT&T subscribers and a how-to for handing off your old iPhone to someone else.
For its part, Apple has cleared up some lingering questions about how to replace an original iPhone with an iPhone 3G. For instance, new iPhone 3Gs bought in the U.S. will come with their own SIM cards, so you won’t need the SIM in your old iPhone. (Non-U.S. iPhone users will be able to use their old SIM cards, however).
Moving along, it sounds like the iPhone App Store is on track for its expected July 11 launch, with TechCrunch reporting that developers have until today (July 7) to submit their application in time for the store’s unveiling. Forbes notes that Apple has approved only 16 percent of 25,000 applications, which makes for about 4,000 iPhone/iPod Touch apps at launch. Wow.
And finally, where’s the best place to buy at iPhone 3G—at an Apple Store or from AT&T? Carrier reps told Gizmodo that the buying process should be identical no matter which store you go to, although business customers looking to get corporate discounts should head for an AT&T store.
I’ll be getting in line myself early Friday to pick up the iPhone 3G; visit www.electronics-911.com for your own Iphone 3G on friday as well.
